merging from a k-hole deep Copenhagen underground, Phono & Kemi are rising high like a Bolivian druglord.
They met in a haze of after hours strobe and smoke. Was it a late night, an early morning or some time the next day? Nobody remembers, but a connection had been born. Ever since, they've been capturing that hazy feeling in grooved up bass driven music.
Their first internationally acclaimed track was called "Green Tea" which was released on the Swiss label Fantastic Friends.
Two months after the duo's debut, Highgrade released the EP titled "Tiger Tiger" which included a Martinez remix also played and charted by Richie Hawtin.
Five months later Jacob Phono released his solo EP on Fantastic Friends, called "Slow Move", and "Rubber Ninja" came out in February 2011 under the Australian label Bumb Music.
In March the rather erotic tune "Smile" saw the light of day on the second Highgrade compilation "Group of Connected Heads".
Currently, we can expect the release of "Decompose" as well as the re-release of the seductive track "Exterminators", both featuring the lyrics and vocals of Copenhagen-based poet Vladimir El Baz.
What does the future bring? Exactly what the next after party brings. Just another series of extatic moments.
